Our goal is to capture the true essence and potential of your property through stunning, high-quality photographs that captivate buyers and
drive interest.
How will we achieve this? To make this process seamless and efficient, we’ve prepared this checklist of items for you to consider before your scheduled
shoot.

Photography Preparation Checklist | Abide Studios

  • Be camera-ready: Thorough cleaning and staging should be completed before we arrive, ideally the day before. While we may adjust small items for optimal composition, larger furniture and staging accessories should be in their final positions.
  • No furry friends: We adore pets, but for the safety of our equipment, we ask that dogs be secured or off the property during the shoot. Cats are less of a concern, but we appreciate them being kept out of sight.
  • Privacy please: We kindly request that occupants remain off-site or in areas unseen by the camera. This prevents shadows, reflections, and ensures our team can work efficiently and safely.
  • Utilise the garage: If there are items you’d like hidden from view, the garage serves as an excellent storage space.
  • Clear the drive: Ensure the drive is free of cars, and if possible, move vehicles parked on the road in front of the property.
  • Avoid the hosepipe: A wet driveway is easily achievable in post-processing. Watering can create uneven drying, so we prefer to add that touch digitally.
  • Tuck away bins: Rubbish and recycling bins can be discreetly placed on the side of the property or in the garage.
  • Stash the hosepipe: Please hide hosepipes the day before the shoot, as moving them can cause drips and puddles.
  • Lawn care: Mow and trim the lawn at least 24 hours before your shoot.
  • Sprinkler schedule: Refrain from watering the day of the shoot to prevent puddles.
  • Poo patrol: Ensure all pet waste is removed from the garden.
  • Pool and spa prep: If applicable, have your pool and/or spa cleaned with covers removed. If your spa requires special instructions to be turned on, please inform your agent.
  • Water features: Clean any fountains or waterfalls and provide instructions to your agent on how to activate them.
  • For Sale sign: This should be removed or installed after the shoot, as it may be undesirable in the final photos.
  • Spruce up outdoor furniture: Dust and remove cobwebs, but avoid hosing down furniture on the day of the shoot to prevent puddles.
  • Tidy the kitchen: A few tasteful items on worktops are acceptable, but please put away dishes, sponges, and cleaning supplies. Remove magnets and photos from the fridge, and consider removing any rugs.
  • Bathroom basics: Store away toothpaste, toothbrushes, and other personal items. Decorative soaps, candles, or flowers are welcome.
  • Bedroom prep: Beds should be made with personal items stowed away.
  • Rubbish bins: Hide all rubbish bins in cupboards or the garage.
  • No fans: Ceiling fans are fine, but please store away portable fans.
  • Cords and remotes: While some cables are unavoidable, try to conceal TV remotes, gaming consoles, and any visible wires.
  • Clear entryways: Remove shoes, umbrellas, and any unnecessary items.
  • Window treatments: Open blinds with appealing views. For windows facing less desirable views, adjust blinds to let in natural light.
  • Light it up: Ensure all interior lights are turned on before our arrival. If any bulbs are blown, please replace them at least 24 hours beforehand.
